The Arc Arapahoe & Douglas Counties invites parents of school-aged children with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) to learn what is necessary to adequately support children in the classroom, the doctor’s office and community.
During this educational series, participants will learn how to address 504 and/or Individualized Education Program (IEP) concerns, and how to navigate the Wrightslaw Special Education website. Parents should walk away with a better understanding of the child system, from single entry points to waivers, healthcare, private insurance and Medicaid.
Child advocates from The Arc AD will conduct a panel to answer questions from the audience. PEAK Parent Center will also provide an IEP training session on November 6.
