An event every week that begins at 1:30 pm on Saturday, repeating until November 9, 2019

The Arc ADventures in Learning: Community Safety is a 5-week workshop designed for individuals with I/DD ages 16 and up.  During class, participants will review current events, safety dilemmas, effective problem solving
strategies, and appropriate ways to respond to various social situations.

Workshop highlights:

  • Communication techniques
  • Problem-solving strategies
  • Effective body language
  • Speaking with confidence
  • Identifying safety risk factors
  • Preparing a personal emergency action plan
  • Community safety and crime prevention
  • Internet and social media review

WHEN: October 5 – November 9
Saturdays (1:30 pm – 4:30 pm) – No class October 26
COST*: $10 members of ANY chapter of The Arc/$20 non-member (one-time fee for all classes)
Maximum of 10 participants/minimum of 5
