DESCRIPTION:The Arc Arapahoe & Douglas Counties in partnership with PEAK Parent Center invites parents of school-aged children (5 years +) with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) to learn what is necessary to adequately support children in the classroom\, the doctor’s office and community. \nDuring this educational series\, participants will learn how to address 504 and/or Individualized Education Program (IEP) concerns\, and how to navigate the Wrightslaw Special Education website. Parents should walk away with a better understanding of the child system\, from single entry points to waivers\, healthcare\, private insurance and Medicaid. \nChild advocates from The Arc AD will conduct a panel to answer questions from the audience. PEAK Parent Center will also provide an IEP training session on April 22. \nThis educational opportunity is FREE. Light dinner and respite will be provided upon request\, please RSVP by March 30. DESCRIPTION:The Arc Arapahoe & Douglas Counties  invites parents of school-aged children with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) to learn what is necessary to adequately support children in the classroom\, the doctor’s office and community. \nDuring this educational series\, participants will learn how to address 504 and/or Individualized Education Program (IEP) concerns\, and how to navigate the Wrightslaw Special Education website. Parents should walk away with a better understanding of the child system\, from single entry points to waivers\, healthcare\, private insurance and Medicaid. \nChild advocates from The Arc AD will conduct a panel to answer questions from the audience.
