SUMMARY:Sensory Friendly Concert - Stef Briggs & Paul Trunko
DESCRIPTION:In partnership with Developmental Pathways and Autism Society of Colorado\, Swallow Hill Music is proud to announce its first sensory friendly concert\, with Stef Briggs & Paul Trunko on Sunday\, November 6 at noon. \nThe concert in Daniels Hall aims to create a welcoming space for concertgoers and their families to enjoy live music in safe and comfortable surroundings. \nSensory friendly concerts are specifically designed for individuals with sensory sensitivities and developmental disabilities\, including those diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. We turn the lights up and the sound down so individuals and their families can walk around\, dance\, and sing along in a fun\, judgement free environment. \nSensory Friendly events are designed to be an inclusive and welcoming experience for individuals impacted by intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (I/DD) and their family and friends. \nThese events\, while geared toward some of the unique needs of individuals with I/DD\, will make our cultural events and experiences more welcoming for all. We welcome individuals of all ages and abilities at this performance. \nStef Briggs & Paul Trunko \nStef Briggs holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in music education from Metro State College in Denver\, and also studied piano at CU Boulder. She received her diploma from the American College of Musicians. \nPaul Trunko has been teaching guitar for Swallow Hill Music for more than a dozen years\, with formal training in voice\, guitar and theory. He teaches basic\, rhythm\, slide\, and lead guitar mainly in the styles of rock\, blues\, bluegrass\, folk and country with added ideas of improvising and jamming. He likes to create a comfortable environment for his students and audiences.
