DESCRIPTION:Start your engines and race your cars on our derby track to see who is the fastest. Bring a car of your own or use one of ours. \n\n\n\nWhether you only race a few times\, or make it all the way to the winner’s circle\, it’s a thrill! With three different racecourses\, your car will race through curves\, loops or jumps before the electronic finish line. There will be other courses to play on\, as well as the opportunity to create your own track. \n\n\n\nThe Derby itself is a competition involving toy cars and gravity. Once your car is chosen\, only your car’s speed will determine how far you get. \n\n\n\nThis event is fun for all ages! \n\n\n\nCar Eligibility: \n\n\n\n\nAll 1:64 scale Hot Wheels Mainline cars\, Matchbox Cars\, Johnny Lightning\, ets. are eligible\n\n\n\nNo modification – Maximum weight is 3 ounces\n\n\n\nYou may only use one car in the Derby.\n\n\n\nIt is your responsibility to put your car in the Starting Gate and retrieve it following each race. No one else may touch your car without your permission.\n\n\n\n\nEach race must be “clean.” A race will be disqualified\, and restarted IF: \n\n\n\n\nAny car leaves the track for any reason.\n\n\n\nNot all cars leave the starting gate at the same time.\n\n\n\nAny other reason that judges decide the race was unfair.\n\n\n\n\nAdditional Information: \n\n\n\n\nEach driver and car will be assigned a numbered\, identification sticker.\n\n\n\nEach Participant will be able to stand in the finish line area when his or her vehicle is racing\n\n\n\nCars will be randomly grouped in sixes to race each other.\n\n\n\nRounds will continue until the three fastest cars are determined.\n\n\n\n\nRegistration is required \n\n\n\nTags

DESCRIPTION:The Arc ADvEntures in Fun self-advocates will explore the Corn Maze at Chatfield Farms in October. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Arc ADvEntures in Fun self-advocates will visit the Corn Maze at Chatfield Farms during the month of October. For this month only the fun will happen on a Saturday\, Oct 14th. \n\n\n\nParticipants will explore and wind their way through a 7-acre corn maze. \n\n\n\nDrop off and pick up will be at the SW corner of the main parking area headed towards the Hildebrand Ranch. We will ensure all participants have arrived to support them through the maze and getting food if that’s their decision. \n\n\n\nFood will not be provided by The Arc ADvEntures in Fun\, but food vendors will be available for those who want to purchase items. \n\n\n\nAdmission to the Corn Maze is at 2:00\, please arrive at the meeting spot by 1:45. \n\n\n\nPlease bring water\, and wear sunscreen! \n\n\n\nNote: Not all areas are wheelchair accessible without assistance at Chatfield Farms \n\n\n\nDay of contact will be Joe Monreal\, please find his contact information on your confirmation email.

SUMMARY:Sexual Education class with Planned Parenthood
DESCRIPTION:There is a need to teach people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/ DD) comprehensive sexual education. The Arc Arapahoe\, Douglas & Elbert Counties will be partnering with Planned Parenthood for a 4-Week “Sex Positive” education class for people with I/DD. These classes will promote sexually healthy\, educated young men and women with I/DD being safer\, more informed\, and more vocal about their rights and their bodies. Space is limited (10 participants max). RSVP by September 12th\, 2024. \n\n\n\nAll classes will be held at The Arc Arapahoe\, Douglas & Elbert Counties office at 6538 S Racine Circle\, Centennial\, CO 80111 \n\n\n\nThis class is meant for Ages 16+ \n\n\n\n4 Week Class (Tuesday/Thursday) \, September 17th – October 10th\, 2024 | 5:30 – 7:00PM \n\n\n\nNote\, please register for the first class\, which will register you for all the classes. \n\n\n\nCOVERED TOPICS: \n\n\n\n\nDIFFERENT TYPES OF RELATIONSHIPS – Participants will learn who they are and how to talk about “ME”. They will also learn about different relationships\, feelings\, and touches.\n\n\n\nMOVING FROM FRIEND TO MORE… – Participants will learn what it feels like to be attracted to someone\, appropriate ways to show interest in someone\, and practice ways to communicate those feelings with others.\n\n\n\nPUBLIC VS. PRIVATE – We will define and explore public vs. private and reinforce public vs. private body parts\, places\, behaviors\, and conversations.\n\n\n\nANATOMY – Participants will learn about sexual and reproductive body parts and their functions. Participants will learn sexual health and how to keep sexual parts healthy.\n\n\n\nUNDERSTANDING AND RESPECTING CONSENT – Consent will be defined\, and participants will learn how it relates to boundaries for self and others. Participants will also practice saying and hearing “NO.”\n\n\n\n\nThe 1st class is a Parent/Caregiver discussion. All other classes are for the individual only\, unless a caregiver is needed.

DESCRIPTION:Start your engines and race your cars on our derby track to see who is the fastest. Bring a car of your own or use one of ours. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhether you only race a few times\, or make it all the way to the winner’s circle\, it’s a thrill! With three different racecourses\, your car will race through curves\, loops or jumps before the electronic finish line. There will be other courses to play on\, as well as the opportunity to create your own track. \n\n\n\nThe Derby itself is a competition involving toy cars and gravity. Once your car is chosen\, only your car’s speed will determine how far you get. \n\n\n\nThis event is fun for all ages! \n\n\n\nCar Eligibility: \n\n\n\n\nAll 1:64 scale Hot Wheels Mainline cars\, Matchbox Cars\, Johnny Lightning\, ets. are eligible\n\n\n\nNo modification – Maximum weight is 3 ounces\n\n\n\nYou may only use one car in the Derby.\n\n\n\nIt is your responsibility to put your car in the Starting Gate and retrieve it following each race. No one else may touch your car without your permission.\n\n\n\n\nEach race must be “clean.” A race will be disqualified\, and restarted IF: \n\n\n\n\nAny car leaves the track for any reason.\n\n\n\nNot all cars leave the starting gate at the same time.\n\n\n\nAny other reason that judges decide the race was unfair.\n\n\n\n\nAdditional Information: \n\n\n\n\nEach driver and car will be assigned a numbered\, identification sticker.\n\n\n\nEach Participant will be able to stand in the finish line area when his or her vehicle is racing\n\n\n\nCars will be randomly grouped in sixes to race each other.\n\n\n\nRounds will continue until the three fastest cars are determined.\n\n\n\n\nRegistration is required
