Respite

What is Respite? Respite care is a break for caregivers and families from the extreme daily stress of care giving responsibilities required for people with special health care needs. Respite care is provided by professionals or volunteers trained specifically to handle the complex needs of an individual with multiple health, physical, and emotional needs. (via Colorado Respite Coalition)

  • The Colorado Respite Coalition – maintains a website and resource database for family caregivers, respite care providers, state agencies, policy makers, community partners and the public.
  • Safe Families for Children – Safe Families for Children provides much needed support for parents in crisis, giving them time to get back on their feet while their children are cared for in a safe and loving environment.
