Building Blocks

April 6, 2022 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Sign-up for this class. April 6th, 2022, 6 – 8:15 pm

Free to attend.

This education series addresses services and supports for children with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). It tutors parents on some of the mysteries of the resources that are available to them, accessing those sources, addressing 504 or IEP concerns, and provides a basic overview of the Wrights Law website. At the conclusion of the series, parents will have an understanding of the child system including single entry points, waivers, healthcare, private insurance and Medicaid.

A 4-part video series and a link to the PEAK Parent Center’s video trainings on IEP/504 will be emailed to all who register. The video series is designed to empower individuals, families, caregivers, and educators to plan for supports and school. It is highly encouraged that you watch as many of the video sessions as possible, prior to the panel (which will provide plenty of time for questions and answers).

The discussion and question and answer time will dive deeper into the topics from the videos and allow time for attendees to ask questions.

Held via Zoom or in-person*.

*In-person will be limited to 10 people total. Masks and vaccinations are highly encouraged. In-person will be held at The Arc Arapahoe & Douglas Counties office: 6538 S Racine Cir, Centennial, CO 80111.

Both options are free to attend. When registering on Eventbrite you must register for either “virtual” or “In Person”.
