Understanding Alzheimer’s & Dementia in the IDD community

Alzheimer’s is not a normal part of aging. It’s a disease of the brain that causes problems with memory, thinking and behavior.

The Arc Arapahoe, Douglas & Elbert Counties, along with Alzheimer’s Association; Colorado Chapter invite people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and their families to learn about Alzheimer’s & Dementia in the IDD community.

Participants will learn:

  • The impact of Alzheimer’s.
  • The difference between Alzheimer’s and dementia, along with the stages and risk factors.
  • Current research and treatments available for some symptoms.
  • Alzheimer’s Association resources.
