The Two Way Street Effect

By Jonah Berger, The Two Way Street’s Fearless Leader

Our Journey to The Delores Project

Last month, The Two-Way Street Project hit the road once again to spread their joy at The Delores Project of Denver. The non-profit provides food, shelter and resources to unaccompanied women and transgender individuals experiencing homelessness. Our group talked to staff at the Delores Project to learn more about their history and mission. We also prepared sandwiches, macaroni salad, chips, desserts, and drinks for their clients.  Everyone was so gracious for our help and quite verbal in showing their appreciation.

It is always such a great reminder about why we chose the name The Two-Way Street Project for our self-advocate group. We meet people and receive the gift of appreciation for our contributions, while the community gets to know the abilities of people with disabilities.

The Two Way Street is a life-changing experience, don’t miss out! Next month, we will prepare meals for St. Francis Center to help the homeless.
