The Two-Way Street Project Takes it to Heart

By Jonah Berger

Feb-2016-IIThis month, the Two-Way Street Project ventured out to volunteer with Project Angel Heart. The Denver-based non-profit prepares and delivers meals to over 900 area clients with Cancer, HIV, and other illnesses that prevent them from cooking for themselves.

This was a truly wonderful experience for our gang. The employees at Project Angel Heart are amazing and were very friendly, welcoming and appreciative. We met the Head Chef, Volunteer Coordinator and Program Director.

We were put right to work compiling snack bags to accompany the meals they send out. Our crew found our rhythm and made over 500 snack bags and had a blast in the process.

We then took a tour of the facility and learned about the history and process of this giving organization. It is a constant joy to witness the mutual benefit of having our unique gang interact and exchange learning with non-profits in our community.

The leaving is always bitter sweet as it only takes a few hours to make a real connection. Don’t miss next month as we venture out to Project Helping!
